My 2 Sen Worth

Sorry for the delay. Kinda busy working in order to make ends meet... =P

My 2 Sen Worth competition was held on the 5th of August. Since my family went for a 1 night cruise, stayed over at my aunt's place after work as I will have to be at Menara Star by 6.30am.

There were 3 busses which brought all the teams to Genting. Reached there by 10am for some briefing. Things were pretty complicated between Bernice and myself minutes before the competition... *sighs* but its alright.. It's JUZ a GAME! =D

Task 1 - Balance Your Portfolio

We were suppose to create a tower that must be free standing at the time of measurement with the items provided and must be completed within 35 minutes. *the faster you are, the better* As it was our first task, both of us were pretty careful in deciding the arrangements of stuffs given. (the tower must be at least 7 feet high)

Finished it within 20 minutes cause we thought the highest will win. heh

Task 2 - Marketing Makeover

This was the 1st task that required us to run around looking for the venue. Genting World Bowling Foyer.

Had to decorate 2 vases with the equipment provided and later sell them to the public for a minimum of RM20. Both of us thought it was RM20 PER VASE ......... -_-

The one I painted was rather 'artistic' while Bernice's vase looked very da memory lane. LoL eh we were rushing for time okay!

After both of us painted it, we ran our seperate ways to sell the vasses for RM20 each!!!

Some Arabian couple walked away after I told them that the vase will cost them RM20 -__- stupid Saudis. Can buy Coach bag but cannot spend RM20 for charity ah? Luckily Bernice found this GENEROUS Chinese man from MALAYSIA who bought our vases for RM30. another RM10 was from this guy who gave it to Bernice but not wanting the vase. and off we ran to our base at Times Square to report. Running back also very stressing cause we thought we were late.

Task 3 - The Call Of The Entrepreneur!

Required to make 5 burgers according to the recipe.

We were kinda late as we didn't know where Magic Mountain (Outdoor Theme Park) was.

Quickly chopped the onions, cucumbers and tomatoes. Bernice were in-charge of frying the burgers. After putting in all the required recipes, we had to wrapped them nicely. Out of 5, the Marshal will choose 2 randomly which must be eaten by us in order to get an approved stamp.

Quickly stuffed the burger into my mouth like nobody's business which was quite difficult !!! The burger were not as nice as McD so you can't expect me to swallow them T___T It was horror of all horror....I was suffocating...and nearly vommitted as I munched and forced it down my throat unlike Bernice who stuffed it all into her mouth =P

me : Marshal.. done.. DONE! *mouth filled with burger*

Marshal : EI! why your hair also got burger wan!! no no.. must swallow

Finished the task and quickly ran all the wayyyyy back. luckily we were in time.

Task 4 - Risk or No Risk?

At this point, I was really exhausted from all the running in and out.

Task was at Vision City. Am suppose to obtain a minimom of 50 tokens from the machines.

We both didnt know that we were suppose to borrow the money from the Maybank Counter so we ran ALL THE WAY to Vision City (very daaa far!!!). Reached up there and found out we had to run all the way back to the base to collect some money.

didn't manage to obtain the 50 tokens but got back in time =( its okay.............its okay

Task 5 - A Day In A Life

Required to pack vegetables with the given amount. Carrots - 1kg , Chilli Padi - 500 gm, Long Beans - 500 gm, Leafy Vegetable (Kangkung) - 500gm, Cabbage Heads - 5 heads.

I think the last task was quite easy but kinda tiring as you have to run back and forth to weigh your vegetables.

Finished it within 16 minutes.

overall, the competition was really fun. You seriously don't knw what u've just missed out >.< Tho we didn't manage to enter the final 10, but we still walked away with RM80....... =D tiring, frustrating yet entertaining. Amazing Race, next!

Blogging from my fav place again, Starbucks. But this time, I'm at Taipan instead of IOI indulging their new raspberry drink.

I'll make sure my dad go get a new modem this weekend from the fair -.-

Working for the past 3 weeks have been a-o-kay. It really boost up my confidence level when Fuji sales manager compliment me Apart from earning my own money, this job taught things that books wont. It taught me how to face customers from different walks of life which I must admit, are quite fascinating. If I were to own a company (ceh) in the future, I'll make sure I splurge on marketing + advertising. There was this customer who insisted that he wanted this Olympus cam which cost RM599 but with no sound. I recommended Fuji (RM550 + video + sound) to him but he simply pushed it away saying he has no confidence in it. After persuading him for 30 minutes, he still insisted that stupid Olympus camera (smaller LCD somemore!). Oh well...he paid for the brand.

Berniceeey visited me last Friday. I think you should visit me more . Because of her *cough* presence *cough*, I broke my sales record and even stayed on for an extra hour~

Working have been kinda tiring for the past few days. pfft.

Went to Sanctuary and Laundry last Friday. Glad I drove home safe -_-

Am currently at the cyber cafe near my area cuz the dad still haven't got us a new modem. Spent Monday awfully as Starbucks IOI was closed till Fri. Ended up using wifi at this small cafe called NextStop which sucks big time (connection speed). Since I had to wait for another 3 hours till my mom finishes work, watched Harry Potter all by myself before window shopping at Nichii. sigh

since dear Robyn is leaving to the US soon, spent some 'quality time' with her today at 1U's Chilli's

Currently using wifi at Starbucks IOI for the 1st time. My dad exterminated the modem by throwing it onto the floor with a loud bang last week cause the brother was being rebellious. And poor me will not have any internet access atm. Received this 3 days pass (fitness first) from A lvl Ball. It felt so good to sweat. Brought Yee Ling along to IOI's FF where I met alot of people from SMKS4. It was good to finally talk to Li Hui.

Anyway,

working as a promoter for Fujiflim is still bearable. First few days were horrible as I do not have any experience in sales.

Before I got the call from Kelly Services (which I applied thru JobStreet.com), both Yee Ling and I were scouting around for a job at MV. I was fickle in deciding which offer I should choose since offer A is nearer to my house but lower pay ,offer B has higher pay but quite far and Kelly Services' has higher chance of getting good pay + better experience. After discussing all the pros and cons, Yee Ling and I decided to go for Kelly Services' interview (an agent for Fujiflim).

*halfway typing I ran to the counter to get myself another drink $$$$!!! ok I must stay till dinner*

the one who interviewed us was Fuji's Director, Mr Jason. Talking to him was okay but I didn't expect him to blast me with sharp-witted questions (1st time going for a job interview ok!!!). So most of the time I was giving answers a dumb blonde would give. Meh. He even made a remark about my messy hair and that I should do something with it. The last 15 minutes of the interview was hell as he was telling me how a chinese should be able to survive in this country and that I should also learn Chinese as one day I will be working under a China boss. After a good 45 minutes, he finally said I'll be working at one of Fotokem's outlets promoting Fujiflim's cameras =)

According to Bhavani, he was kinda happy with me since I was offered the job on the spot unlike previous candidates who had to wait for few days. *yalah, very bangga ok cause I survived the harsh interview*

Went for training then work the next day.

1st day : horrible as I was still new to all this Sales thingy and how you convince your customer to buy your cameras. Plus, I was still unsure about Fujiflim's functions.

2nd day : I wanted to quit. My legs hurts from standing for more than 9 hours non-stop. I went for lunch with a big headache as I didn't manage to sell any for the day. Even while eating I was analyzing how I lost that customer bla bla bla (thanks to Mr Jason who told me to obsere whenever I lose a customer !!!) Tidorrrr also mimpi cameras. Stress.

3rd day : I nearly gave up that day as there were 3 promoters from Casio, Pentax and Hitachi. I made new friends although they are my competitors. Pentax girl thought me some tricks on how you get your customers and ways to persuade them. Casio boy taught me how to tackle customers who are doubtful .... nice people =) also realised how friendly (and sarcastic) my colleagues from Fotokem are

4th day : I'm getting used to them and kinda like going to work ........ Sold 3 cams that day! weEEEee achivement yo.

Sold approx 8 units since last Wednesday. May I survive for another week. Tension sial. its okay Clareen. You are new *chants*

It 'was' dead during my exam and it is still dead. Sorry but I procrastinate alot.

I promise there will be more random post until I start working.

I've been pretty high on life after 19/6/07. Going out almost every single day ain't a good thing if you do not have enough cash with you.

2nd week of freedom

Drove to college to lepak with Charmaine while the science students were busy preparing for their last paper, Chem 6. *evil ei?* The plan was to wait for Bernice and Dhaya to finish their exam which ends at 3 and then celebrate with them at 1U etc.

Charm with her maggi cup at Jalan Telawi, Bangsar. Shopped for a few hours before going back to college again.

Officially finished A Levels on the 19th of June 2007 *tears of joy*

Do you know how much I anticipate this day? DO YOU?!!! $#@!@ mwahahahaahaha

Last paper I had was Economics 6, which I think I did badly.

Few weeks ago, I was ranting and crying over my exam telling my friend I will be dead even before I finish half of it. The stress was on. I spent most of my study break in the library trying to study knowing that staying at home wouldn't help. And everytime I couldn't finish the targeted ammount, I'll start stressing up.

Let me start off with the worst unit.

Stats 2 : I never finish Ms Aw's homework. EVER! Which is why I suffered so much before the exam by cramming in all 4 chapters within days and to finish all the past year questions before the exam. *ok maybe not all lar cause I was running out of time and ended up memorising the answers* Luckily no theories came out cause I took the risk to not read any of them =d

Acc 2 : I had C3 the day before which finished at 7.30 pm. Reached home around 8-ish. Slept till 1-ish. Stayed up all night until the paper. Thank you to those who contributed in waking me up ; Dad, Mom, Bro, Alarm Clock , Bernice and hp's alarm. meh, I hope I did o-k-a-y. I still think it's better than Acc 1.

Core Maths 4 : hmmmmmmmmm I'm praying for the best..........*sighs*

Stats 1 : I screwed up the Mean big time. ARGHHHH....why oh why!!!#@!%!~@$#% There goes my A for this unit.

Throughout the whole month of May and June, I learnt alot from people around me mainly the ones from the library apart from making new friends. Worst week was the one with all my 3rd sem's units which drained the life outta my body. I WILL remember this exam omygawd. It practically made me study like crazy and ber-nerding in the lib with Charmaine and Angeline. I went to the lib so often that whenever I'm not there, these 2 girls will sms me~

Glad its over. Emo cause I won't see my friends anymore.

Chester Bennington a.k.a Linkin Park's lead singer

He came down to Malaysia on the 14th of April to launch their new album, Minutes To Midnight in KLCC, Tower Records. On that date itself, it was also the premiere of their music video, What I've Done which I missed since they played it at 12.05am on Chl 71 -.-

I found out about it from Hitz.fm few days before he came down to KL. Thank you so much for providing such useful information.

Since I was having Economics that day, went there around 2-ish which was rather late which also caused me to missed out the "first 50 who pre-book the album will meet and greet Chester".

Yee Ling arrived there earlier thus she helped me pre-book (had to pay full price RM49. pre-book konon) the album while waiting for me. Will be collecting the album on the 15th of May =]

I even made a new friend, Christine, where she skipped school just to see Chester along with her sister. *I will do that too ok*

The crowd were noisy as they were screaming every ....5 minutes. I was soo exhilarated and anxious though I know I was not one of the first 50. pfft....People were chanting for Chester and I salute them for having so much energy. Their screaming got louder every minute till both me and Christine had to shout at each other because we could merely hear ourselves.

Around 4.50-ish, Serena C appeared out of no where and told us Chester is on his way being escorted by the police. & so we waited .....and waited and!!!!!!

My heart skipped a beat when he entered Tower Records. The screaming were crazzzzyyyy I tell you.

Sorry if it's shaky since I was screaming while recording the whole memorable-once-in-a-life-time-thing. ceh, terlebih pulak.

After the whole intro thingy, this lucky winner was given Minutes To Midnight by Chester himself where she is the first in the whole wide WORLD to get it 1 month before the official release. *envy envy*

They also allowed us to get an autograph from him with the condition that we move fast and show them the receipt of the album in order to get a number. WOOT

It was soo crammed at where I was standing but I need to get to another entrance (where I will have to come out of Tower Records and make a big U-Turn to another entrance) to get the number! It was soo jam packed out there since they blocked the entrance cause too many people were rushing in. The minute I came out of TR, I freaking ran with my giant poster along with another girl whom I pakated with. Everyone ran towards the other entrance where I heard a random guy saying 'Tsunami wei Tsunami melanda!!'. LOL

As I was lining up to meet him, my palms were quite sweaty. My heart was pumping so rapidly from the adrenaline rush. Three years ago at LP concert, I told JC that if any LP members were to be 1 feet in front of me, I'll cry and FAINT.

When it was my turn, I handed my poster to his security guard dumbfounded by Chester's strong aura..

Me : *smiles stupidly*
Him : *big big smile* Hey! How are you!!! =D *continues to sign my poster*
Me : *almost died* I'm finEEE =D
Him : *shakes hand with DO CLAREEN*
Me : THANKS CHESTER *grabs poster and continue to smile retardedly*

When I came out of TR, my eyes were teary T_T so I quickly went into Guardian to wait for Yee Ling. I called up JC to appologize cuz I didn't manage to get her an autograph. Things that have to do with LP is never the same without her =( sue your manager!!

I'm going to frame this up. lol!!

It was a busy Saturday morning with a list of chores I had to do. Food was prepared by my mother and her friend since 8am which is why all of you should give compliment -d

The last teen year I’m celebrating as next year will be my 20th . Am I really different compared to my previous teenage years? Did I changed a lot (apart from puberty lar)? Maybe. Only close friends will know ;)

What have I attained so far. Have I really gone through enough to be able to think on my own and decide things that I believe is ethical? Then why am I still bothered on how people judge me.

I'M NINETEEN YO

At around 5-ish, David came over to fetch me to IOI to buy some stuffs. Rushed like mad cuz I had to be back before my friends arrive. The house was quite noisy as my aunties and uncles were there together wif jc helping my parents with the preparation. Walked around for the stuffs that I wanted to get and made David speed back. There, ter-met Ting Wei and Seet Yen (read more to know why it was a mistake to meet them).

Robyn and gang were the first to arrive followed by Siew Yen and gang.

As we were waiting for the rest to come, one of them sugested poker (duh). Bernice Lim arrived later followed by Robin Brian. Within an hour, most of the guests were there except a few who arrived later.

I counted and the total of people who came (including relatives and family friends) reached 60+. my gawd.
After waiting for almost an hour after 6pm, I officially opened the ceremony by grabbing some mee hoon -.- since the girls insisted it.

After makan malam and all, they went into the house for some cards UNTIL......my dad rushed in telling me that my friends (secondary school gang!) have arrived.

I quickly rushed out to find no one there cept David's head who was hiding in the dark beside the pillar. I knew there were people out there, standing right outside of my gate hiding but I did not expect them walking in a group with Yee Ling holding the CAKE surrounded by Swee Tim, Chee Wei, Ting Wei and David SINGING A BIRTHDAY SONG while walking towards me!!!!!!111!!11!!!

I was stunned, speechless, flabbergastered, touched and was left open-mouthed. I swore I stood there like I had just saw Rain's naked body displayed right in front of me. I was suprised and was a lil shy as all attention was shifted to us.

I don't remember making a wish before I blew the candle. omg. I guess I was too excited till I couldn't think of any!

After that, I quickly ran into the house (don't know why) to the college gang who were busy playing blackjack and told them what had happened. Before I could finish the whole thing,I started to cry!!!!!! YES. I freaking CRIED! I actually tahan-ed till I was inside the house.

No wonder they were late (and I thought u guys ffked) cause they were runing under the rain to get my cake and also had a lil argument on which flavour to get and what to write on it. T________T I also found out that Ting Wei were suppose to lie about not being able to make it to my party but failed to do so since I ran into her in IOI =d woops

The 'adults' were suprised at how my friends all drank and went crazy the whole night. My dad was worried crazy that one of you guys might get hurt.

Joel started the drinking fest by going up to my room persuading JC, Sarah and Charmaine to down some Chivas. After they got pretty high, they ran down screaming at me to down with them. Sarah was scary as she was talking so loudly and Charmaine was shouting at the top of her voice while JC was ..you know, NOISY! Joel, on the other hand, was busy carrying Chivas and a few cups.

At one point, Charmaine and JC dared Sarah to walk straight. Sarah, who claimed she can't walk straight ended up swaying in a straight line which was so-very-da-hillarious. Both Joel and I were laughing like there was no tomorrow (I think I nearly terkencing). It was crazy with all the shoutings and my relatives had a pretty good time looking at how we drank and made a fool out of ourselves. Later Ajay the drinker joined in and onced again, drank them like water.

JC spent the night at my house but I ended sleeping first as I was dead tired. Tiring day yet memorable 19th ;)

Some of them can't make it mainly because of Chap Goh Meh dinners and other birthday celebrations.

p/s : I was born one day after Chap Goh Meh in 1988 which explains why my mom gives me two ang paus during CNY.

I'm sorry if some of you felt left out at the party. I know there were different cliques but you all managed to stay together and sang me a birthday song! heh

This is a late CNY post as I was quite busy for the past few weeks. I finished cleaning up my room on CNY eve (huray for me) and also a small part of the house (part-time maid was sick).

Anyway, before I proceed to blog about my magnificent Chinese new year celebration,

Chinese New Year Eve

Everyone were busy cleaning + packing + tidying as we have to leave to Johor by 12pm in order to be in time for the reunion dinner. Dad thought going back on new year eve will avoid us from the Seremban-Malacca jam but seemed like it turned out the other way round with extra spice. Horrible.

Sampained dad's kampung at around 4-ish after dropping off my cousin and her daughter at 2nd aunty's place (which is like a few houses away).

Antique rite?! It have been standing strong for 3 generations. Big old bangalow with 8 rooms and a well.

Reunion dinner was great. yum. I doozed off while waiting for the clock to strike 12am on the bed reading one of Amy Tan's book. pfft.

1st Day of Chinese New Year

Greeted by the very familiar smell I've been smelling for the past 19 years. I think its the house's smell. hmm...

Normally, dad won't go out on the 1st day of New Year but things were different this time. Uncle and dad drove us down to Kota Tinggi to visit 1st aunty and my cousins who were victims of the Johore flood.

After nearly a day at KT, went back to Yong Peng for dinner before heading home for a bath. Within 2 hours, all of us went out again to visit 2nd aunty's new house and 3rd aunty's place. Wish they could celebrate CNY at their old house (4 houses away from the BIG one) instead of her son's house which is like 10 minutes away. Usually will spend most of the time at 2nd aunty's place tho I don't converse in Canto/Mandarin with any of them. Can simply lepak + eat + sleep + listen to the cousins gossiping while the nieces and nephews will be runing around to attract my attention (noisy but cute).
